Question: What is the relationship between The Paperless Hymnal and Taylor Publications? Answer: We are two separate companies. Back a good number of years ago, R. J. Taylor retired from the oil industry. He had always been interested in hymns and their origins. Retirement gave him a change to travel and scout out authors, songs and their histories. He started selling books about hymns and even became a producer of a'capella CD's and hymnals. In 2001, R. J. produced "Praise Hymn", a collection of contemporary songs, many arranged by Darrell Bledsoe. He started selling The Paperless Hymnal along with a huge selection of just about everything dealing with Christian a'capella. At my urging, R. J. produced his own PowerPoint® slides for the "Praise Hymn" book. Thus ePraise was born. Since then, he has produced an addition to that book, four volumes of traditional hymns, and Kid's and Teen's CD's, books and PowerPoint® slides. He is by far and away our largest reseller. We are somewhat competitors, but since we have the same objective, we want to see the other succeed. He lives in the Mac world while we live in the PC world, so we do many things differently, but our goals are the same. By the way, Taylor Publications is now the distributor for "Songs of Faith and Praise". You no longer call Howard. |
