How to use the Shape Note templates in Finale

After downloading the font and template files from the previous page, do the following.

1. Install Finale using only the defaults

2. Download the font files and place them in c:\Windows\fonts\

3. Make a folder called “Custom” in c:\Finale 2001\templates\

4. Download the template files and place them in the “Custom” directory

5. Bring up Finale

1. Click Cancel on the Wizard window
2. Click on “Options” on the menu bar at the top
3. Click on “Program Options”
4. Change templates to read “C:\FINALE 2001\Templates\Custom”
5. Click on “OK”

6. Close Finale

7. Bring Finale back up

1. Click Cancel on the Wizard window
2. Click on “File” on the menu bar at the top
3. Click on “New”
4. Click on “Document from Template”
5. Click on the desired template
